I'm so thankful for these two special guys in my life. They are so much a like in so many ways. That will definitely be a blessing in Chace's life, because his Dad is pretty awesome.

We certainly witnessed one of the Lord's "tender mercies" in our lives today. We had a Tri-Ward Fireside for the youth tonight and then Nolan and Hannah came over to play cards. Kim was still at work late at the Hotel, so they all hopped in Nolan's car to go check on her and see how much longer she was going to be. On the way back from the Hotel, they took the corner by the Library "a little" too fast, went off the shoulder of the road, and when they came back on, they ended up landing right between two trees. Air bags deployed and the car is probably going to be totalled. Nolan had a couple of burns on his wrists from the airbags and a little cut on his forehead. Chace and Hannah didn't have a scratch on them. As I took pictures this morning, I realized all the "what if's", especially as you see the much bigger tree just a few inches away. They were all luckily given a 2nd chance and will hopefully vividly remember this and drive more carefully. We certainly got on our knees and thanked Heavenly Father for this blessing.

SURPRISE (sort of)!!

Saturday, November 10, 2007

We "tried" to pull off a surprise 16th birthday party for Chace and our neighbor, Hannah Nelson (she's 9 days older than Chace). We told them it was an "End of the Season, Volleyball/Football Party". I think Chace got a little suspicious when he realized his Dad (the head football coach) was going to be out of town today. To put it nicely, "I HATE HALLOWEEN!!" I don't sew, I'm not crafty and creative, so my kids always pretty much get the shaft when it comes to cool costumes. We still had a pretty fun night though - Our Chamber of Commerce and Transnation Title/US Mortgage Source put on a HUGE halloween party (trunk or treat) out at Bison Ranch. The kids got tons of candy, free hot dogs, chili, hot cocoa, etc. Then they had free hay rides, a cake walk, costume contests, etc. It was actually an enjoyable night for us all!

Maryssa - "Old Woman" (saggy panty hose and all)

Emma - "Bad Boy" (she's just way too cute to be a boy)

Trey - "Red Power Ranger"

(thank goodness he still fits in $$$ Store costumes)

CAMERA IS FOUND!

I know many of you have been wondering why I did a post over a month ago, and then haven't done anything since?? The camera had been lost now for almost two weeks. I just wasn't asking the right people, because when I finally mentioned it being lost to Ron, he knew right where it was!!

This coming weekend (Nov. 2nd and 3rd) is State Volleyball and the semi-final game for football. Hopefully I can keep track of the camera and get some good pictures of the kids in their games. I'm sure it was probably around 100 times.

Here's a few pictures of his first stay with Mama and Papa T. without his parents:

Emma got to feed him his cereal that morning

Madden was fascinated with Aunt Kimi's bubble blowing skills

Madden with Aunt Emma and Aunt Maryssa at the Volleyball Games

SENIOR VOLLEYBALL RECOGNITION

Final Regular Season Home Game - October 20th, 2007

We are SOOO proud of OUR Senior!! They just let the boys all wrestle three rounds, all for the same amount of time, no score is kept, and then both wrestlers get their hands raised for winning at the end. I might actually like High School wrestling if they did it that way!! I HATE seeing my boys lose. There were activities going on each night, and having a Senior daughter, we tried to attend most of them.

MONDAY NIGHT - Lucky for Kim and Chace, I didn't go to movie night with the camera. As is always the case when you get alot of kids together, I don't think much movie watching went on.

POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL

TUESDAY NIGHT - Powder Puff Football Game - The senior and freshman girls were on a team with the junior and sophomore girls on the opposing team. There was alot of "Smack Talk" going on all week. By the time it was over, I was really afraid if our Volleyball team would even be speaking to each other the next day, let alone wanting to play on the same team. Needless to say, the Sr./Freshman team won 12-0 with Kim running for one of the score's and throwing a touchdown pass for the other score. GOOOO KIMI!! (We also ought to note that she had to sit out for 5 minutes for actually "tackling" a girl in flag football. A little TOO competitive don't you think!!)

MIGHTY MAN VOLLEYBALL

WEDNESDAY NIGHT - Mighty Man Volleyball - The boys got to try their hand at the game of volleyball. I think all of the guys had alot of fun. Again, the Senior's won. Their boys were actually quite good and got to try their hand at beating the faculty team. That was so much fun to watch. The faculty team only had 6 players, so they talked Ron into playing with them so they could at least rotate in and out for a breather. Of course, he was quite amazing. Everyone could tell where our girls got their volleyball skills from (maybe I could at least claim their "jumping" skills??) Another fun night!!

PEP ASSEMBLY - BON FIRE

THURSDAY NIGHT - Pep Assembly/Bon Fire - Grandma Mary Tenney was the "Guest Speaker" at the assembly. They asked her to give a little history about our school and then background on the fight song she wrote for MHS. Uncle Jake came to help her out and spoke a few minutes on how his class was able to be in on the naming of the school, mascot, colors, etc. We are SO BLESSED to have our own High School here and our kids be able to participate in so many activities which they probably wouldn't have elsewhere.

HOMECOMING NIGHT

GAMES/DANCE

FRIDAY NIGHT - Game Night - Unfortunately for the Lady Mustangs, the volleyball games DID NOT go as planned. Ash Fork ended up taking us to 5 games and they beat us 15-12 in the last game. Heartbreaker!! Another conference loss for us as well. At least we will have another shot to prove ourselves to them at Regionals the end of this month which happen to be at home for us. On the other hand the football game went much better than anticipated. We had thought it would be a close game and tough one to win, but it seems that things "clicked" very well for our offense. We beat Orme 64-14. GO MUSTANGS!!

The Homecoming dance was right after the game and Kim and J.R. Maner had to be the cutest couple there (not that I'm her mother or anything!!) Ron and I attended the dance as chaperones to help Kim's senior class out. Actually I think Kim has around 35 service hours towards her Sr. trip, and I probably worked 25 of those between Prom last year and Homecoming. Good thing I love her so much!!

FUN - FUN WEEK!!

HERE WE GO!!

My daughters are bound and determined that they are going to get me started on this. I have absolutely LOVED their blogs and I probably get on to check and see what they've been up to at least two or three times a week. So, I guess they figure I need to repay the favor. I'd better do this now while we still have kids at home, because once they are all gone, I figure our lives will be SOOOO boring, there won't be much to say.

This week is Homecoming week at Mogollon High School, so I plan to take pictures of the activities each night and post them this weekend. We'll see how the picture taking goes and if I can figure out how to get the pictures from the camera to the computer. Could be interesting!!
